Three women were arrested for prostitution in Springfield on Tuesday during an undercover police sting.
Monique Brown, 30, and Mary Sells, 42, both of Springfield, and Brittany St. Pierre, 23, of New Carlisle, were arrested and face misdemeanor charges of solicitation after allegedly offering sexual services for sale to an undercover detective, a police report said.
At 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, the undercover detective said he saw Sells walking on Selma Road, and she allegedly signaled him to pull over. Sells climbed into the car and offered sexual services for $20, the police report said. She was arrested, but told arresting officers she and the detective knew each other.
At 6:40 p.m., the detective said he was flagged down by Brown, who was hanging out around S. Light and W. Mulberry streets. Brown allegedly offered sexual gratification in exchange for $20. She allegedly boasted about being an expert at the act.
At 9:15 p.m., the undercover detective said he noticed St. Pierre loitering at the intersection of Selam Road and Homeview Avenue.
St. Pierre allegedly flagged down his car and asked him if he was a cop, to which he replied no. She exposed her chest, and she offered sexual services for between $20 to $40, depending on the activity.
The three suspects were scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Clark County Municipal Court of Springfield for solicitation, a third-degree misdemeanor that is punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.
