OXFORD — Grammy award winner and country music star Gretchen Wilson will perform Nov. 18 at Brick Street Bar.
Tickets are available beginning at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 28 online through www.BrickStreetBar.com or in person at the bar.
Wilson debuted in 2004 with “Redneck Woman” and won the 2005 Grammy for Best Country Female Vocal Performance.
In past years, Brick Street has attracted well-known acts including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Mike Posner and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.
“When you look at our history, it’s pretty unique what we’ve been able to accomplish,” said Will Weisman, co-owner of Brick Street.
Weisman said he keeps open dialogue with talent agencies such as William Morris about artist’s tour schedules and possible routing stops in Oxford. Weisman said he expects a diverse crowd from Oxford and surrounding areas including Richmond, Ind. ranging from 18 to 50 years old.
“For those in the local community and surrounding areas it’s a chance to see someone that big in an intimate setting,” Weisman said. “It’s so rare for her to play in a club setting.”
Emily Cain, first-year student at Miami University, said she plans on buying tickets to the concert. Cain hopes to attend the show with her sister and members of her corridor living in Dodds Hall.
“(Country music) is all I listen to,” Cain said, who is also seeing country musician Justin Moore at Brick Street Nov. 2. “It’s exciting to hear people talk about (Wilson’s show).”
