McDonald said GFS has committed to spending $2.1 million on Trotwood’s Salem Avenue location to make room for more vegetables, baked goods, meats, in-store rotisserie and roasted chicken as well as produce.

Word of the agreement came from the mayor on Friday. She and a delegation of city officials traveled to Detroit to see a GFS store layout that would be similar to the Trotwood location and meet with GFS officials.
