UPDATE: 2 arrested in Troy spray-paint vandalism cases

UPDATE @ 9:40 a.m. (Sept. 18): 

Two men have been identified and arrested, accused of numerous acts of spray painting in Troy, according to police.

Nathan Sharits, 23 and John Dwyer, 19, were both arrested in Troy Tuesday and booked into the Miami County Jail on preliminary charges of vandalism.

Both Sharits and Dwyer were arraigned in Miami County Municipal Court Wednesday morning. Bond for both men was set at $35,000.

Police said additional charges are pending in the investigation.

FIRST REPORT (Sept. 16): 

The city of Troy has been subject to numerous acts of spray painting starting in early July and the problem is continuing, police department officials said Monday afternoon.

The police department released a photo Monday afternoon, taken from surveillance video, and is asking for your assistance in identifying the suspects.

If you witness spray painters in the act, you are asked to call 911.
