Truck and tractor pulls, drag races featured events in Greene Fair’s final days

There’s still time to catch a show, ride some rides and eat some fair food at the Greene County Fair.

Carnival rides open at 1 p.m. today and Saturday, the last two days of Greene County’s 179th fair.

Activities today start at 9 a.m. with the dog show, showmanship and fun show and culminate with the OSTPA Truck and Tractor Pulls, which start at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the evening’s grandstand event will feature ATV/Truck drag races. Drivers will start practicing around 4 p.m. and races begin at 6 p.m.

The weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid-80s today with a chance for rain in the evening, then upper-80s on Saturday with a slight chance for rain.

Despite rain earlier in the week, attendance is up this year compared to last, according to Jim Bucher, public relations for the fair.
