Truck causes heavy damage to Xenia apartment

A home improvement truck crashed into an apartment at the Deer Creek Apartments on Deer Creek Drive around 12:50 a.m. today.

The red pick-up hit the corner of the 1720 apartment building and fled the scene, Sgt. Chris Stutes with the Xenia Police Division said.  The vehicle was found at another apartment in the same complex a short time later and the driver was located inside his apartment.

Police took the driver of the pick-up, 29-year-old Neal Leath of Xenia, into custody charged him with OVI. The truck was labeled with decals for N. L. Home Improvements, LLC,

A woman was laying in her bed inside the apartment when the truck plowed through the side wall of the building and hit the bed she was lying in, but she was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
