An Urbana man has been assembling food packages for the last three days, delivering them to those in need.

News Center 7's Jenna Lawson accompanied Bill Curtis as he bought food and created care packages for eight people he'd been tipped off needed his assistance.

Many community businesses helped make Curtis's mission possible -- Muffle Brothers, Conley's Sweets, Dairy Queen and Half Day Cafe are just a few of those who've donated to his cause.

"There's nothing for me to do right now, so i'm looking to fill this time. And if I can fill that time being helpful to someone in need -- I feel like what better way to spend your time?" Curtis said.

Curtis is usually running a restaurant of his own, but in light of recent events, he's been putting his time elsewhere.

"If you think you're just one person, you can't do it, you can. You really can. Even if you just help five people. If 10 people did that in your community -- that's 50 people."
