Troopers said Dunham was wearing dark clothing at the time he was struck.
The driver of the pickup was identified as a 44-year-old Springfield man.
Dunham was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, the patrol said.
It’s not clear if any charges will be filed in the crash, but troopers said the public is reminded to walk against the flow of traffic, so people can see and react to vehicles as they approach.
