The officers will be provided by G2G Solutions with a $348,052 contract for the 2018-2019 school year, according to the contract. It will have an annual increase on each anniversary, which is the first of August.
“We are excited to have this contract approved and look forward to having safety officers in each of our buildings this school year,” said Vandalia-Butler Superintendent Robert O’Leary.
The district had some school resource officers in the past, but they were rotated among the schools.
The Vandalia-Butler School District is the home of Butler High School, Morton and Smith middle schools, and Demmitt and Helke elementary schools.
