Pizza delivery driver robbed, pistol-whipped before car stolen, burned

An armed robbery occurred at a Dayton Domino’s Pizza early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a robbery in progress at 531 Wilmington Avenue, according to a Dayton police report.

The robber stole a man’s 2015 Nissan Altima at gunpoint by pistol-whipping the victim. The robber then took off in the Nissan towards Keowee Street.

The carjacking suspect also took the man’s wallet that contained money, his driver’s license, Social Security card and bank card, read the report.

Roughly 30 minutes later, police responded to the 1600 block of Dewitt Drive to investigate a car fire.

Police located the burned-out 2015 Nissan Altima, read the report. The fire was ruled arson.
