Warren County health inspections

The following are summaries of state of Ohio standard inspection reports on file from the Warren County Combined Health District, from Oct. 10-21. District information is available online at www.wcchd.com.

Domino’s Pizzeria

368 N. Main St., Waynesville

Date of inspection: Oct. 12

Violations: Observed improper storage of food items. Boxes of parm. cheese packets, and crushed red pepper packets stored on the floor. Corrected. Boxes were placed on the counter during the inspection. Food shall be protected from contamination by storing the food in a clean, dry location, where it is not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination, and at least six inches above the floor.

Observed employees eating, drinking, or using tobacco where food, equipment, or utensils may be contaminated. Closed employee drinks stored on shelves with store product in the walk-in refrigerator. Please make a designated area on a bottom shelf to store employee food to prevent contamination of product. Areas designated for employees to eat, drink, and use tobacco shall be located so that food, equipment, linens, and single-service and single-use articles are protected from contamination.

Comments: Two managers have taken and completed the ServSafe level 1 course. Certificates available. Please remember that one person per facility must have level 2 food safety training by March 1, 2017. Overall very good inspection.

Papa John’s Pizza

545 W. Central Ave., Springboro

Date of inspection: Oct. 11

Violations: Observed a significant number of lies in the establishment due to the fact the back door was cracked open. To prevent illness, the presence of insects, rodents, and other pests shall be controlled by: routinely inspecting incoming shipments of food and supplies; routinely inspecting the premises for evidence of pests; using methods, if pests are found, such as trapping devices or pesticides used according section (C), (K) and (L) of rules 3717-1-07.1 of this code; and eliminating harborage conditions.

Observed no towels at either hand sink. Napkins being used at one hand sink. To prevent contamination by hands, each handwashing sink or group of adjacent handwashing sinks shall be provided with: individual, disposable towels; a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel a heated-air hand drying device; or a hand drying device that employs an air-knife system that delivers high velocity, pressurized air at ambient temperatures.

Cookies Market

8098 Martz-Paulin Road, Franklin

Date of inspection: Oct. 14

Violations: Areas of floors, walls, and ceilings in poor repair. The physical facilities shall be maintained in good repair.
