WATCH: Famous Butler County dog Trooper makes surprise visit to Atrium staff

Trooper, the dog who has inspired Butler County since recovering from being struck by a train last year in Hamilton, made a surprise visit Monday to Atrium Medical Center.

The hospital’s surgical services staff donated materials to the Humane Association of Warren County, and Trooper’s visit helped support that donation.

The staff collected wraps that had been used to keep instruments sterile and donated them to the humane society to use in surgeries.

Trooper lost his back legs and an eye following the incident, and he has made regular appearances around the area since recovering.
