The accident occurred when Taylor, who was driving his 2003 Dodge Neon north on West Mansfield-Mt. Victory Road, went left of center while negotiating a curve. Taylor’s car struck Smith’s southbound Ford F-350 pickup truck about 4:17 p.m., officials said.
Taylor was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is not believed to have been factor, officials said. The crash remains under investigation.
