Woman involved in I-70 wrong-way crash released from hospital

UPDATE @10:46 p.m.:

Slusser was released from Miami Valley Hospital on Monday, a hospital officials said. No other information about her condition or the crash investigation were immediately available Monday night.

UPDATE @ 11:02 a.m.: The driver of the minivan headed the wrong way on I-70 East is reported to be in fair condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

The driver is identified as 33-year-old Nicole Slusser, according to Huber Heights police dispatch records about the incident.

Video obtained from the Ohio Department of Transportation, via a public records request, shows a driver traveling the wrong way along I-70 in Huber Heights moments before the driver struck a semitrailer.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into why Slusser was driving the wrong way on the interstate when the head-on collision occurred near Old Troy Pike about 2:25 a.m.

The driver of the semitrailer was not injured.

ODOT was called to clean up the scene of the crash, which blocked much of the eastbound lanes for several hours.
