Woman says her vehicle was arson target

A 25-year-old woman said she walked out of her house Tuesday morning and found her car was the target of an arson.

Investigators have concluded arson was the cause of the fire that started inside the 1994 Eagle Vision, parked on the 3300 block of Riverside Drive in Dayton. According to a police report obtained Wednesday, the victim discovered her car windows darkened with soot and as she opened the door she smelled smoke.

Police said it appeared someone tried to start a fire in the back seat of the car and it burned itself out.

Investigators found a can of lighter fluid and were able to obtain fingerprints at the scene. The victim said she had no enemies.
