The woman had a gunshot wound to the shoulder when she showed up at Good Samaritan Hospital around 2:40 a.m. Thursday. After the scuffle, the woman escaped and called a family member, who ended up taking her to the hospital. The woman’s injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
Police are now looking for a suspect in the case. Police described the man as a black male, 5-foot-9, muscular build and short braids. Officers said the suspect’s vehicle is a small red car.
The incident remains under investigation.
