WSU employees to receive layoff notices today

Wright State employees who will be laid off will receive notices starting today and through next week, according to university officials.

The board approved eliminating 189 jobs, including laying off 57 employees.

Employees who will be laid off will be able to use work time to look for other job opportunities.

WSU will provide free career management sessions for impacted employees with Lee Hecht Harrison — a career transition and outplacement firm.

The university's human resources department is also offering regular services to all WSU employees during the transition including free counseling, workplace and personal development sessions through the IMPACT Solutions Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and Tai Chi, meditation and self-regulation and relaxation techniques with Employee Wellness, according to the university.
