The fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain Hot Head Burritos has added some heat to its menu — but not the spicy kind.
The restaurants that got their start in Kettering have introduced a toasted burrito that utilizes Hot Head’s new speed oven, the chain’s founders said in a release. The new ovens will toast a burrito in less than a minute.
“Not only do we toast burritos, our quesadillas that were previously cooked in approximately three minutes are now toasted in under a minute as well,” Matt Curtis, a co-founder of Hot Head Burritos, said in a release.
Hot Head CEO Ray Wiley said toasting the popular menu items “will benefit our customers through the cold months, as well as throughout the year.”
Hot Head Burritos was founded in Dayton, Ohio in 2007 and now operates more than 70 locations in seven states. Its menu includes burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and salsas, available with eight sauces that range “from Mild to Wild,” Hot Head officials say.
The locally based burrito chain also has been adding alcoholic beverages to many of its restaurants, with an emphasis on craft beers and margaritas. And Hot Head is renovating many of its restaurants to give them more of a cantina-like feel, the burrito chain’s founders say.
