Police said Green, 72, was beaten and raped inside her Bellefontaine home. Prosecutors said Tindall entered Green's home, which was two doors down from the group home he was living in.
They said Tindall entered home looking for money and valuables when Green surprised him and began screaming.
Tindall will be eligible for parole after 30 years.
