Majestic brings curb appeal to customer’s property

Rick Gibbs can often be seen around the city singing — at churches, weddings or various community events, or even while cleaning some of the city’s windows.

For the past 14 years, Gibbs, a Madision Twp. native and owner of Majestic Window Cleaning & More, has been cleaning windows in Middletown and the surrounding region. And a clean window is part of the curb appeal for any business or home, he said.

“We always say it gives you a clear outlook on life,” Gibbs said.

He got into business after helping his brother one day and enjoyed the work. And he enjoys the satisfaction of being able to seeing a clean window that was grimy or dirty.

While he washes windows as far as Dayton, Waynesville and Indiana — and during the spring, summer and fall may wash hundreds of windows in a week — he enjoys working near home, such as @ The Square in downtown Middletown.

“You know the people, people get to know you, know the family,” Gibbs said. “It’s very important to me.”

Most jobs take a matter of minutes, and some can take days — and require Gibbs to hire a few temporary workers, including his contract to clean windows at three buildings at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Gibbs said he takes his time “to do it right. We’re not going to be in and out and be done with it.”

Gibbs is also a former part-time history teacher and now teaches home-schooled students.

“It’s pretty neat when you have the kids you’re supposed to be teaching and you look up and see the parents and grandparents with their little notepads,” he said.
