Sidney police believe alcohol played a big role in what happened late last week. They have filed charges against Jamie Seitz for allegedly hitting a female coworker and holding her against her will.
Police believe it all started when the two employees of the Broad Street Grille came back to work after catering a party in Kettering. Police believe the manager, Jamie Seitz and a 27-year-old coworker started to drink alcohol. Then, Seitz allegedly took her to an apartment in Sidney.
Sidney Chief Kevin Gessler said, " The allegation is the male offender assaulted the female in the apartment."
The allegations do not stop there. Chief Gessler said Seitz is also accused of kidnapping the woman.
"After the assault took place, she was taken against her will to Piqua, so the offender is charged with both abduction and felonious assault," said Chief Gessler.
Police said the victim was struck in the head several times. She was treated and released at a local hospital and is now recovering at home.
Jamie Seitz appeared in Sidney Municipal Court on Monday to answer to the charges against him as detectives continue to work the case.
Chief Gessler said, "Some circumstances, we're still trying to establish. It' s under investigation by the detectives."
Seitz made an initial court appearance and pleaded not guilty to charges of felonious assault and abduction.
