Man Accused Of Stabbing Roommate

Police in Trotwood said they are looking for a man accused of stabbing his roommate with a butcher’s knife.

Officers said the victim suffered four stab wounds to the back. The stabbing happened on the front porch of a home on Whispering Drive.

Officers said they began receiving calls about an argument between two men that quickly turned violent.

Sgt. Jon Moeggenberg said, “The argument was inside and then it moved outside. The suspect ran inside and grabbed the butcher knife from the kitchen.”

Police said 44-year-old Keith Boykin is responsible for the stabbing. Officers called in a K-9 unit, but the dog was unable to locate the suspect. According to officers, they are looking for Boykin at several possible family locations in Dayton. They said they are also checking with some friends who live in Trotwood.

News Center 7 noticed a lot of personal belongings on the home’s front porch and asked police about it. They said they are not sure how long Boykin and the victim had lived at the house, but the victim is apparently the primary residents.

Police said it appears that the homeowner told Boykin that it was time for him to leave during the disagreement.

Moeggenberg said, “Apparently they are roommates and the suspect was in the process of getting kicked out of the house during the argument. That is when the fight escalated.”
