Man accused of stealing sword, daggers

A 26-year-old man is in the Montgomery County jail to face charges for going into a home on Garland Avenue in Dayton and stealing a sword, daggers and three video game systems.

Timothy Bowemeister is being held on a theft charge among three others after stealing the property. The homeowner, Jeremy Hughel told News Center 7's Mark Bruce he was at a friend's house around 11 o'clock Tuesday night when he got a call from his neighbors saying something was going on at his house.

When Hughel returned home, his neighbors told him they had already fought Bowemeister to the ground and had him unload a gun. Hughel said he found Bowemeister in front of his house sitting in a car with his sword collection in the back seat.

"I didnt' give him opportunity to run. I didn't give him opportunity for nothing. It was 'Lay down, don't move keep your mouth shut.' Luckily, the boys in blue came and took him away," said the homeowner, Jeremy Hughel.

Hughel said he took Bowemeister in his house and found his T-V kicked in, the house trashed and his sword collection and several video game systems stolen.

Officers also allegedly found marijuana on Bowemeister when he was arrested.
