Bond set at $1M for Dayton murder suspect

JaMichael Howard pleaded not guilty Thursday during arraignment for murder charges.

Hi bond was set at $1 million, and he will be on home detention if he makes bond.

He’ll be in court again later this month.

A 25-year-old Dayton man was indicted today for the shooting death of Darius Hall last month.

Jamichael Howard was indicted on two counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault and two gun-related charges, records show.

Howard is due in for his arraignment on Feb. 15.

INITIAL REPORT:

A man is in Montgomery County Jail on a murder charge related to the shooting death of Darius Hall earlier this year.

Jamichael L. Howard, 25, is in jail on murder, falsification and obstruction charges. He was booked Thursday afternoon by Dayton police.

Howard is accused in the shooting death of Hall, 24, of Dayton, on North Upland Avenue in January.

On Jan. 30, Dayton police had arrested Christopher D. Johnson Sr., 23, on a charge of obstruction, after police say he lied to them Jan. 26 and Jan. 30 in connection to Hall’s death.

Howard’s obstruction and falsification charges relate to a 2013 arrest with Dayton police for which warrants have been out for Howard’s arrest since 2014.
