Man Sentenced In Al's Pizza Shop Fire In Sidney

A judge in Shelby County has sentenced a Sidney man to prison for setting a September fire that destroyed a popular pizza business in Sidney.

Justin Depinet, 27, of Sidney, declined an opportunity to speak in court. The public defender asked the judge for leniency for Depinet for cooperating with investigators.

Judge James Stevenson sentenced Depinet to prison for 17 months and fined him $300.

The fire was at Al's Pizza on Sept. 10. A reward was later offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.

Damage to the business was estimated at $250,000. Six months later, Al's Pizza was back in business at a different location in Sidney.
