Man stabbed in Middletown bar

A 21-year-old man was taken to the Atrium Medical Center early Sunday morning after being stabbed.

Amedeo John Marchetti of Middletown was later transferred by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital where he was in serious condition Sunday afternoon.

Middletown police said the stabbing happened after a disturbance at the Take A Break Lounge, 1217 Jackson Lane.

Sgt. Brad Carrozza said when police arrived at 1:22 a.m., they found Marchetti lying in the parking lot with a stab wound to the chest.

Carrozza said the suspect, a black male, ran out of the bar west toward a wooded area. Officers brought in a K9 unit, but the dog lost the scent at the treeline.

Police say the stabbing occurred fater Marchetti and the suspect had an altercation in the bar.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, and was last seen wearing a dark colored striped shirt and khaki pants.
