Witnesses said a couple of men walked into the store, at least one of them waving a gun, and demanded money. Officers didn't say whether anyone inside the store saw a getaway car after the men ran outside.
However, moments later officers were trailing a Ford SUV with three men inside and followed it down Pleasant Valley Road. They said the vehicle pulled into a driveway and all three men jumped out and took off running.
Officers managed to catch up to one of the men and placed him in the back of a cruiser shortly after midnight. They're now questioning him about his possible role in the robbery.
Police confirmed they recovered a handgun dropped by one of the three men. They also confiscated a number of loose bills that fell out as the men ran. Investigators believe that is money stolen from the Pizza hut.
Both Riverside police and Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies called in K-9's to help track the two men that slipped away. Officers indicated the dogs tracked for more than a mile through backyards, a park, and inside a housing subdivision before losing the scent.
Officers would not provide any description of the two men they're still looking for other than to confirm they are two white males. That's believed to match the description of the two men that were actually inside the Pizza Hut during the hold-up.
