Miami Co. Auditor To Retire

Long-time Miami County Auditor Chris Peeples announced on Tuesday that he will retire from the office as the county’s chief financial officer on April 30, which is the day after he turns age 54.

Peeples served as auditor of Miami County for 18 years. He has other career options that include farming and raising his cattle. He has not ruled out other public service options in the future.

Once the vacancy occurs, the Miami County Commissioners will appoint an acting county auditor until the time that the Republican Party Central Committee in Miami County meets to appoint a person to fill the unexpired term left by Peeples, which expires in March 2011.
