Miami Twp. OKs annexation plan for Austin South in Springboro

Miami Twp. has approved of a plan for Springboro to annex land for the $380 million Austin South project.

Austin South is a continuation of the development of the Austin Boulevard/Ohio 741 intersection, south of Austin Landing.

The proposal passed by trustees Tuesday night calls for 7.7 acres to be annexed and tax-income sharing between the township and Springboro, records show.

The majority of the land on the northwest corner of Austin and Ohio 741 is developed with Austin Landing’s mix of office, retail and housing.

Upscale senior and multi-family housing, a hotel and retail are among the uses anticipated in the first phase of the 67-acre development on the southeast corner of Interstate 75 and Austin Boulevard, in Springboro and Miami Twp.

VisCap Development President Larry Dillin is managing and leasing on both sides of Austin Boulevard land since taking over for developer Randy Gunlock and RG Properties. Springboro Landing Associates is the owner of land on the southwest corner of Austin Boulevard and Ohio 741 where the development is to take shape.
