Money for logos

What in the world is going on? Do our so-called leaders think throwing money down the drain for signs and logos on cards is going to grow this community? How many useless things can they think up to waste our tax dollars? Give us a break. For heaven's sakes, we can't even afford to fix the streets — but we need signs? Really.

Regarding the caller who said the city should post times when they are going to plow snow so their cars won't be blocked in: Watch the news. It tells you when it's going to snow. The guys and girls out plowing your streets do a great job and work long hours. Get real. Move your car when the snow starts.

This thing about Sunset Park turning into a dog park is one of the dumbest things I've heard yet. If we can't afford to have a swimming pool, that's OK; but to give it to the dogs, that's like you're saying that Middletown is going to the dogs. I don't know whose idea this is, but I hope it's not one of the City Council — because I sure wouldn't be voting for that person.

I agree with the people who wrote in about the Spring Hill area over on Brell Drive and Spencer Lane. Some of the properties' front yards look like a trash can. It's an eyesore, especially for people who want to make their yards look nicer. I think Middletown (leaders) need to get together and do something. That's a residential (area); it's not out in the country. I hope they get on the ball. That's why we pay taxes.

Regarding neighbors who don't take care of their houses on Spencer Lane and make loud noises at 1 a.m. and nothing gets done about it: I have a neighbor who doesn't take care of his lawn, who has cars in his backyard, who has trash everywhere, and loves to make a bunch of noise at 1 a.m. Some of us do have to work and others have to go to school. I want to know where the police are when all this is going on. You call them and they don't come until two or three hours after the noise is done. Everybody has called City Council and they're really not doing anything. I want to know why nothing is getting done. ...
