UPDATE @ noon (Oct. 25)

A motorcyclist was ejected in a crash on one highway and landed on another early Saturday morning.

The crash happened on the Interstate 675 overpass that bridges Interstate 70. The rider landed on I-70 West, said Sgt. Merrill Thomas of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.

The drop is approximately 45 to 50 feet, Thomas said.

FIRST REPORT (Oct. 25)

A motorcyclist, Kenneth D. Dawson, 55, of Fairborn, was in critical condition when taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Dawson was going the wrong way, traveling south in the northbound direction, when the crash occurred, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He struck a 1990 Nissan 240 SX, driven by a 22-year-old New Carlisle man.

That driver was not hurt.

Dawson was launched off his motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes of I-70 below the overpass, according to OSP.

The rider was wearing a helmet, which may have saved his life, but alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to OSP.

The crash remains under investigation.
