3. At the invitation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Beth Mathias, a 31-year-old mother of two in Marion, will tell her story of hard work and sacrifice at the Democratic convention.
4. Retired Marine General John Allen, who served as the top commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan from 2011 through 2013, will speak to the convention, a sign that some major military leaders are backing Hillary Clinton. Allen endorsed Clinton for president this week.
5. Introduced by her daughter Chelsea, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will deliver her acceptance speech, the first woman in the history of the United States to do so.
