A sign posted outside the library advises residents to “bring what you can” and “take what you need.”
"People especially during this COVID-19 situation where we're at home, we're stuck at home, we're eating more groceries at home than we probably ever have," resident Lori Wheeler told WHNT. "That just kind of highlights when there's a deficiency of groceries or things, especially for people in need."
Residents are also encouraged to put nonperishable items in the box, like cleaning supplies and toiletries, the television station reported.
There are other blessing boxes in Geraldine, Fort Payne, Dog Town and Collinsville, WHNT reported.
