"He is awake. We did it," she told her social media followers.
Cordero's right leg was amputated April 18, weeks after Cordero was first sedated in an intensive care unit. The Tony Award-nominated actor had been experiencing clotting issues in his right leg, CNN reported at the time.
Cordero, who most recently starred in "Rock of Ages" in Hollywood, is recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Kloots said last month.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Cordero, 41, was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia in March and later tested positive for the coronavirus. His breathing has been assisted by extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
Kloots also said last month that the blood thinners Cordero was prescribed to combat the clotting issues began to adversely affect his blood pressure and resulted in internal bleeding, prompting the surgery.
