The number of people infected with the coronavirus worldwide surpassed 4 million Saturday afternoon.

More than 227,000 people have died from the virus globally, according to Johns Hopkins tracking information.

There are more than 1.3 million confirmed cases and more than 78,000 deaths in the United States, CNN reported.
