Rapper Slim Thug said he took precautions but still tested positive for COVID-19.

Houston rapper Slim Thug said he tested positive for coronavirus in a video he posted Tuesday on Instagram.

The 39-year-old rapper said he had been cautious, wearing a mask and gloves when he went out, but his measures did not prevent him from contracting the virus, KPRC reported.

"As careful as I've been self-quarantining, staying home, I might have went and got something to eat or something, simple stuff like that, nothing crazy," Slim Thug said in the video. "Stayed in my truck, had masks, gloves, everything on and my test came back positive."

"Y'all gotta take this stuff serious," Slim Thug said on his video. "Sit home, self-quarantine, do not come outside for however long they're saying. If you have symptoms, you need to go get checked out or whatever."

Slim Thug said he got tested because he had a fever and a cough, but added those symptoms have waned, the Houston Chronicle reported.

"I feel better now," Slim Thug said on Instagram. "I don't have a fever or nothing like that, so I feel like I'm good, but y'all better take this serious. It's real out here."
