Proceeds from the song will be donated to coronavirus relief efforts worldwide, People reported.
"Pitbull reached out saying he wanted to do this track and asked if I was in and I said, 'I'm in if the revenue goes to charity' and he said, 'Absolutely, that's not even a question' and that's how it all started," Haim Saban, chairman and CEO of Saban Capital Group LLC, told Billboard.
In his new song, Pitbull addresses the country’s unease as the coronavirus has consumed everyday life:
“You know what spreads faster than any virus? Fear / And when it comes to fear, you can either forget everything and run, or you can face everything and rise,” Mr. 305 raps. “Let me tell you what I believe / I believe we will face everything and rise.”
For his music video, Pitbull has invited fans to send him videos of themselves singing a snippet of the hook/chant so they can be included in the clip," Billboard reported.
“I’m asking people to send their videos because it will be a world movement and what better than to start it in my backyard, the 305,” Pitbull said.
The rapper said there will be some good that comes out of the fear.
"I always look at things like a blessing in disguise," Pitbull told Billboard. "I look at solutions and opportunities and more than anything I look at the message and the lesson.
“We’re going to get through this, we’ll fight through this,” the rapper told the magazine. “We have a recovery number of nearly 400,000 worldwide and that’s what we need to be talking about. That’s what I look for and we should be talking about these numbers to give people hope and motivation. To be able to be a part of this historical time and see a response from people like, ‘Damn, I am strong, we can make it,’ that for me is priceless.”
