Lieble contacted the nonprofit organization Million Mask Challenge, which receives materials from businesses, hospitals and other organizations to create cloth masks and return them at no extra charge.
Lieble told members she knew of several businesses in need of completed masks, WFTV reported.
Last week, a member of the organization gave 262 masks to Lieble to distribute to various businesses such as Orlando Health, but the masks never arrived, police said.
According to investigators, Lieble was selling the masks on her Facebook page and several Facebook Marketplace pages for $4 each.
Sanford police said they’re not sure what Lieble’s total sales were, but they were not able to recover any of the 262 masks she allegedly took. Police estimate their worth at $43,000.
Lieble was released from jail after posting bail that was set at $4,000.
