Crews free gray whale caught in fishing net

A gray whale caught in an abandoned fishing net off the coast of Washington on Friday was freed.

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources said a geoduck dive crew spotted the whale in a derelict net.

A response crew worked to cut the net, freeing the whale.

Crews followed the whale to ensure it was healthy and safe.
