Democratic National Convention 2016 live updates: Day 2

A day of anything but unity gave way to cheers Monday night at the Democratic National Convention. Behind the speeches of first lady Michelle Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders, the raucous crowd in the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia seemed to come together as one as the first day of the DNC came to a close.

Earlier in the day, things in Philly had an entirely different tone – soon-to-be ex-chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schmitz, was screamed at at a breakfast of her own state’s delegates; speakers early in the evening were booed so loudly they had to stop speaking (including the pastor offering the invocation);  and comedian Sarah Silverman called out  Bernie Sanders supporters after they yelled at her when she said she would support Hillary Clinton – “You’re being ridiculous.”
