Deputies were tipped off about the operation the prior weekend, when a dog rescuer tried to talk to the owner, Brian Kuhse, about a previous animal cruelty case. Investigators told KOKI-TV that Kuhse was charged in October after they found 70 dogs in "repulsive conditions."
When deputies arrived on the property April 29, they found 65 huskies living in makeshift cages and walking around in their own feces.
Workers with Husky Halfway House in Eufaula, Heartland Husky Rescue out of Oklahoma City, Chasing Miracles Animal Rescue in Stigler and BARC Rescue in Broken Arrow helped to remove the dogs and will provide the veterinary care they will need before adopting them to qualified homes.
Kuhse now faces multiple charges of animal cruelty and neglect, KOKI-TV reported.
The dogs are at the Husky Halfway House in Eufaula.
