A missing Colorado boy who vanished more than a week ago is believed to be endangered, authorities said.

According to the Gazette, Gannon Stauch, 11, disappeared while heading from his home in Colorado Springs' Lorson Ranch neighborhood to a friend's house the afternoon of Jan. 27, said his stepmother, Letecia Stauch. His disappearance sparked a massive search effort involving hundreds of people, KKTV reported.

Authorities originally believed Stauch had run away but issued an endangered missing alert for him after three days, citing the weather, his age and the amount of time that had passed, according to KKTV.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Stauch, who is white with brown hair and eyes, stands 4 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. He had been wearing jeans with a blue jacket and tennis shoes, the organization said.

If you have information about Stauch’s whereabouts, call 911 or the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office at 719-520-6666.
