A Georgia woman died trying to protect her twin sister who has autism after tornadoes ripped through much of the southeast Sunday night.

One of those dangerous storms tore through a mobile home park in Chatsworth, killing Deanna Zambrano, 20, while she tried to protect her sister Breanna Zambrano, who was severely injured, WTVC reported.

"Anything she (Deanna) could do to help anybody, she would," mother Tracy Zambrano told WTVC. "She lost her life saving her sister because she had wrapped herself around her."

Six other people at the mobile home park also died, WTVC reported.

Breanna Zambrano was taken to a hospital with eight broken ribs, a broken pelvis, a collapsed lung and head trauma, WTVC reported.

Hospitals are not allowing visitors because of the coronavirus pandemic, so Tracy Zambrano has not been able to see her surviving daughter.

"I just have to stay strong for Breanna because I want her to be able to come home," Zambrano told WTVC.

A funeral service for Deanna Zambrano will be held at a later date, WTVC reported.
