‘Ink Master’ star Daniel Silva arrested after car crash kills YouTuber Corey La Barrie

A tattoo artist who has been featured on the television reality show “Ink Master” has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of YouTube star Corey La Barrie in an automobile crash Sunday night, authorities said.

Daniel Joseph Silva, 27. of Los Angeles, was arrested and charged with murder, the Los Angeles Police Department announced in a news release. He was in custody Monday night in lieu of $200,000 bail, according to online jail records.

According to police, Silva lost control of a 2020 McLaren 600LT while driving at a high speed and hit a stop sign and tree. The impact critically injured La Barrie, who was a passenger. La Barrie, who was celebrating his 25th birthday, died of his injuries at an area hospital, KCAL reported.

Police said Silva exited the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene of the accident, but was stopped by citizens who witnessed the crash, the television station reported. Silva was also taken to an area hospital. Both men were taken to the hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department, according to the police news release.

La Barrie's brother, Jarrad La Barrie, confirmed his sibling's death in an Instagram post Monday.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, I don't how I'm supposed to do this without you," Jarrad La Barrie wrote. "I miss you so much already, this isn't fair."

La Barrie had more than 330,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 200,000 followers on Instagram, People reported. In a series of Instagram Story posts Sunday, La Barrie drank champagne to celebrate his birthday and listened to "Birthday Song" by 2 Chainz, according to the magazine.
