That’s one way to get an incorrect sign fixed.
Twitter user James Keith, the assistant news director at KENS-TV in San Antonio, tweeted a misspelled sign Thursday to the Texas Department of Transportation. The agency's witty response shows that bureaucrats sometimes have a sense of humor.
Keith snapped a photo of a sign that reads “Gaudalupe River” in Cuero and sent it to the Texas DOT, the television station reported. The Guadalupe River, which runs through Texas from the Hill Country to the Gulf of Mexico, is a familiar landmark to south Texas residents.
DOT officials answered the tweet with one of their own, writing, "Thank u fer brengin this too our attension. Were gunna fix it as soon as posibul!"
By Friday, the misspelled sign had been removed, replaced with one that contained the river's proper spelling. Twitter user Bryan Weaver provided visual proof in a tweet, KSAT reported.
