Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, is ending his presidential campaign.

Buttigieg, 38, rose from a virtual unknown to become a top contender in the Democratic presidential primary race, the Washington Post reported.

The decision comes days before Super Tuesday, the biggest primary voting day of the election season.
