According to a filing in U.S. District Court, an investigation into Gupta was opened in January 2019, alleging he improperly drugged and performed sex acts on an adult female escort in 2016 while the plastic surgeon was in Los Angeles, the television station reported.
According to court documents, the woman went online and discovered that multiple women had claimed to have been drugged, sexually assaulted and likely recorded on video by Gupta, WTOL reported.
The recordings were located on electronic storage devices found in Gupta's desk at one of his Toledo offices, WJW reported, citing court documents.

According to FBI investigators, the recordings “clearly depict not just the sexual activity and unconscious state of the women in them but also small cameras positioned around the room during the sex acts (and) Dr. Gupta’s face.”
Investigators said that on one occasion, Gupta's employees found a medical bag in his office containing sex toys, lubricants, plastic syringes, empty anesthesia bottles and a tripod, WKBN reported.
According to court documents, the FBI said in 2014 one of Gupta's employees found multiple secure disc cards containing videos of Gupta having sex with women who appeared to be unconscious, WTOL reported.
Investigators said the employee gave the discs to another person, who provided them to the FBI, the television station reported.
A federal search warrant was executed Friday for Gupta's residence, personal vehicle, and his two Lucas County offices, WKBN reported.
