The CPSC said the recalled chest is not unsafe if it is unanchored, posing tip-over and entrapment situations that could cause serious injuries or death to children.
According to the CPSC, consumers should stop using any recalled chest that is not properly anchored and place it in an area that is inaccessible to children. According to the CPSC, Hodedah will provide free anti-tip anchoring kits, or will send packaging and prepaid shipping labels so consumers can return the chest’s drawer slide. Consumers would be responsible for discarding the rest of the dresser, the CPSC said.
The CPSC said about 26,500 units are impacted by the recall.
The dressers were sold online from July 2017 through April 2002 at Wayfair, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, Unbeatablesale, Homesquare, Houzz, Cymax, 123Stores, Hayneedle, and Overstock. The costs ranged from $90 to $200.
The recall number is 20-120, the CPSC said.
