Teens required to take breathalyzer before entering prom

PROSPER, Texas — Students at a Texas high school will need more than a ticket to get into prom this year.

CBS DFW has reported Prosper High School prom attendees will have to take a breathalyzer test before they will be allowed inside.

The television station reports the policy has been getting a lot of “praise” from parents, and the school district says the policy is not a response to a problem. The new measure is another “layer of safety.”

A student interviewed by the CBS station said  the breathalyzer test was unnecessary, and students and others going to prom should be trusted.
