According to the San Antonio Police Department, the man had been sleeping between the rails just south of downtown when the train stopped on his hand, the television station reported.

Police said the train engineer tried to stop the train but was unable to do and the man became tangled underneath it, KSAT reported. The man was not carrying identification, police said.
Firefighters at the scene worked to move the train so they could take the man to an area hospital, the television station reported.
Police and the Union Pacific Railroad are investigating the incident, KSAT reported.
